DeWaal rigid inclusions are specified to accommodate the variable density of the top fill. The loose fill, including gravel, silt, clay and debris was underlain by very soft organic silt and considered likely to encourage settlement. Rigid inclusions minimize settlement in compressible soils.
Morris-Shea has the experience and manpower necessary to maintain the engineering integrity and construction processes demanded for multiple energy projects.
Deep foundation contractor Morris-Shea installed DeWaal piles, rigid inclusions and shoring at Ford Motor Company’s expansive new production facility near Stanton, Tennessee.
The concurrent installation of nearly 66,000 DeWaal piles at new LNG terminals in Corpus Christi, Texas and Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana required numerous highly skilled crews of deep foundation professionals.
