PROJECT OVERVIEW
Morris-Shea installed a secant pile cofferdam at the site of the Carrier Bridge replacement pump station in Asheville, NC. The Morris-Shea team utilized a high torque drill rig and continuous flight auger (CFA) tooling to install alternating male and female concrete piles with steel supports. Shafts were installed through a concrete guide wall that served as a template to maintain proper alignment and pile overlap. Secant pile walls are particularly suitable as excavated cofferdams in close proximity to buildings, roads and rivers.
